An animation designed for the theme of “Chinese Lunar New Year” for the LED display system.
以農曆新年為主題的動畫作品。首次在LED顯示屏上的創作。

Body movement describes our behaviors in some way. That is on of the theory of Psychology. That’s also one of the inspiration towards our work.When players stand in front of our projection, our computer will start to analyze their body elements and then translate into some text related to this person.

人的身體動作某程度上，能反映人的心裏狀態,，這正是心理學上的其中一種研究哲學。這正是我們作品的其中一出發點。
當玩者站在投射幕前，電腦會自動分析玩者身上的元素，繼而演化出一系列的文字，用以描述玩家。

This project is one of my approaches to investigate the possibility to combine words and sentences using human property. Can text “reproduce themselves”? Can text “inherit properties”?

Each sprites in the project have it’s specific properties and carries different types of words. Those words represent their “Characteristics”. Also, each sprite owns its gender. They can re-produce a “Baby” with their opposite genders. Then the new born baby with inherits the DNAs of their parents and have the DNA combination of their parents. Infinitive words and sentences are formed.

文字和電腦的結合，是非常有趣的過程，只需要一個簡單的規則便能演化出千變萬化的組合。此作品利用遊戲界裏流行的其中一法則 “Genetic Algorithm” 作為基礎。它的原理極似人類的DNA。而這作品正正是利用DNA的概念，賦予每個文字都有本身的特性和性別，而透過與異性交合，文字之間的特性會遺傳給下一代，繼而衍生出有父母基因，同時又擁有自己特性變化的 “兒女”，無窮無盡文字組合因而產生。
